Personalize your end-of-life-planning

Dying is a natural part of life, yet we often spend our lives avoiding the conversation. When the time comes, many are left unprepared and overwhelmed by emotions. At Care Registries, we are dedicated to helping families navigate end-of-life with relative ease by offering access to essential resources such as Living Wills, Advance Directives, Hospice and Palliative Care, Life Reviews, After Death Care, and more. Our goal is to provide the necessary end-of-life support for a dignified and peaceful experience.
Recognizing that each family’s needs are unique, we have designed features that allow families to select the most relevant topics and curate their own end-of-life learning and planning journey
Caregiver support and human connections
When families face end-of-life, the focus is often on the dying loved one, leaving caregivers overlooked. Day to day, caregivers struggle to manage overwhelming responsibilities, often neglecting their own needs and feeling isolated. This can lead to burnout, fatigue, and disruption in their personal lives. Even when others want to help, they often don’t know how or when to offer caregiver support.
At Care Registries, we’ve developed a platform that helps caregivers by allowing them to create a care registry, listing the specific support they need from a trusted circle of family, friends, and neighbors. While the platform is designed with caregivers in mind, family members or friends can also take on the role of managing the care registry, organizing sign-ups, and scheduling assistance. See how it works.

Why do we do this

The Death Positive Movement has gained momentum over the past few decades, from the first hospice in 1974 to the green burial movement, death cafés, and death doulas in recent years. Learn more here. However, it’s still not reaching the scale necessary to support the many families in need today.
Beyond supporting loved ones in their final days, we must also care for the caregivers. Without them, peaceful passings wouldn’t be possible. Did you know over 53 million people in the U.S. provide unpaid care to family members and friends each year (AARP and National Alliance for Caregiving, 2020)? On average, they dedicate 24 hours per week to caregiving, often for 4.5 years, while 61% juggle caregiving with jobs. It’s no surprise that 23% report declining health as a result of their responsibilities.
Caregivers are essential to providing comfort and facilitating peaceful end-of-life experiences for loved ones. Our goal is to help families bring order to the chaos of end-of-life planning, foster community support for both the dying and caregivers, and ultimately bring peace and comfort during this challenging chapter
How does it all work?
Curate an end-of-life plan
On the Resource page, you’ll find a diverse range of topics related to death and dying. As you explore and identify those most relevant to your family, you can easily select and download them as PDFs. Some PDFs include helpful templates or worksheets, such as the Life Review, Legacy Project, or Creating a Comfortable Environment, to guide your end-of-life planning process. For a detailed walkthrough.
Create a Care Registry
On the Care Registries, you can easily create a personalized care registry to share caregiving responsibilities. Choose from an extensive menu of care tasks, such as meal prep, kids’ pickups/drop-offs, yard work, or house cleaning. If the menu doesn’t fully meet your needs, you can create your own custom care items. You can then schedule the help needed, whether on a weekly or one-time basis.
Once your care registry is set up, invite your trusted circle of family, friends, and neighbors. Like a gift registry, they can sign up for the tasks they feel comfortable helping with. While designed with caregivers in mind, we also encourage family members or friends to manage care coordination, as it can be challenging for caregivers to handle on their own. Watch the
